Household Net Worth combines the assets and liabilities of everyone living together, usually a couple or a family, into a single figure. It differs from individual Net Worth, which looks at one person's holdings alone.

For most families it is the more useful view, since decisions like buying a home, taking a loan or planning for a child's education are made at the household level, not by one person in isolation.
