The 50/30/20 Rule, Made Indian

You've probably heard: 50% needs, 30% wants, 20% savings. But rent in a metro, a parent's medicine bill, and that cousin's wedding gift don't fit neatly into an American formula.
For a ₹50,000/month earner, that's ₹25,000 needs, ₹15,000 wants, ₹10,000 savings — but EMIs alone often eat ₹15,000–18,000 here.
So the Indian version shifts to 55/25/20, giving needs (including family support) more room.

You don't need a perfect budget. You need one you'll actually follow past the third month.
